Water worries are normal
Putting your face in, not touching the bottom, a big splash. For a lot of kids, swimming takes real courage. Kids usually warm up faster when they feel in control and get to practice being brave a little at a time.
How the story works
Choose Swimming as the villain. Your child's hero faces the water, uses their power, and ends the story proud. It's a great one to read the week before swim lessons, a pool party or a family trip to the lake or beach.
Pair it with real-life wins
- Start with small goals: blowing bubbles, kicking while holding the wall.
- Celebrate every step and read the book that night.
- Always stay within arm's reach of young swimmers. The book builds courage; grown-ups keep them safe.
